It was by his own choice that he came to Sanctuary to bond, both to do something for himself for once, as well as in hope that he could find a bond to be his backbone for him, if he couldn't grow one of his own. His confidence faltered during his first round when he stepped aside to let his friend Inbere bond the only candidate he'd been attracted to. His second try fared much the same way, when a fit of nerves kept him from even showing at the second meeting night, resulting in him loosing his favorite candidate -- the daemon Akija -- to the bond of his friend Chario.

The third time was the charm for Onis, however, when desperation drove him to be a little more outgoing when he once again found a candidate he liked, this time in the form of Akija's younger brother, Aeta.
