Reliable and faithful to the end, Balatte has a sense of loyalty that some find admirable, while others consider it foolishly naïve. She never loses faith in, falls behind, or turns her back on her friends. Her best friends could turn vicious, abusive, criminal, and any other number of sinful attributes, but she would stay constant in the belief that things will work out and turn all right in the end.

• Earth and Plant Magic: Balatte can magically effect earth, stone, and plant growth with an impressive amount of control and ability.
• Hibernation: In times of emergency, pregnant female Niteshans can "take root" in natural surroundings, going physically and mentally dormant while drawing nutrients from their surroundings, and remain so until their kit has developed.
• Psionics: All Asandae have the potential for psionic ability, but Balatte never gave hers much practice. With some difficulty, she can telepathically talk to someone very nearby, like the ultimate private whisper, but can do no more than that.
• Shapeshifting (Dragon-Dragon, Human): Like any Asandus, Balatte can shapeshift into a human form, and has also developed the ability to shift into two other dragon forms. Though it's a very challenging shift, she can change her body to that of a pure Niteshan, or that of a significantly finnier half-and-half Cascatan / Niteshan.
• Seedling Reproduction: Every few years, Balatte's gemlike scales bloom into purple flowers. If they contract the pollen of another seedling-capable dragon, she could very well become "pregnant".
• Verbal Speech: The ability to speak aloud.
• Water Magic: Though not nearly as skilled with water as with earth, Balatte can summon, control, and dispel moderate amounts of water.
