| Description: |
If the Weaver family ever had a mimic species, it has been forgotten by the clans-folk and is no longer obvious in the Weavers' appearance. Chibora is a humanoid biped of average build, walking on black cloven hooves and standing an impressive six-foot-ten. Blue-grey fur as short as velvet covers its body. Longer, darker grey fur covers its feet starting at the ankle like the feathering of a draft horse, as well as grows in a line along the outside of its forearms. Its face is of human proportions, with chiselled features, long pointed ears, and set upon an overlong neck. Its eyes have no visible sclera or pupils and are a faintly luminescent green, though it is only really noticeable in very dim light or darkness. Its tail is quite long with long, dangling fur growing from the underside and tip, and this fur is the same shade as its feathering. Its dark grey hair grows like a horse's mane in a straight line from the peak of its forehead to the base of its neck, and drops over the left side of its face and neck. Chibora dresses very simply--some even call its wardrobe boring, as it will only wear dark greys and blacks. Primarily it dresses with high-neck cowls and baggy shorts, and wears actual shirts and long pants only in the colder seasons. Its ears are pierced with three gold rings apiece. |
| Personality: |
Chibora is a very quiet kind of person, and not just because it's a mute. It prefers to have a supporting role in life, helping and looking out for others even more than its brother Talruven does. Chibora also lacks the sense of when it's better to let someone be that its brother has. There have been a handful of times where Talruven has had to hold Chibora back to keep it from interfering in something that would really be better off happening. Though it is incredibly intelligent, many believe the daemon to be dumb at first meeting it because of its inability to speak and its doglike loyalty and determination to take care of others. Some find the trait endearing and welcome, where others find it aggravating or even smothering, and Chibora is not slow as so much as unwilling to admit when a would-be charge is of the latter type. Lucky for Chibora, its cousin Jaeros is of the former type, and is Chibora's primary concern in all things. Even though Chibora is generally of calm disposition, however, it doesn't have the same eternally easygoing personality its brother has. Hell hath no fury like that which Chibora is taken by when anyone it cares for is threatened. |
| Abilities: |
Some mighty strange trade-off must have occurred when Chibora's parents altered it before its birth, for while the daemon is mute, it is an even more talented psionic than Talruven is...albeit in an odd way. When Chibora wants to communicate, it simply directs its mind to touch whomever it wants to speak to, and the recipient instantly knows whatever it is the daemon wants to pass on. Talruven has described it as "speaking in knowledge rather than words." Since many find this to be a disconcerting method of being "spoken" to, Chibora will not address anyone who has not been forewarned of its technique by someone who actually can speak. Chibora can also read minds on a surface-thought level. It suspects it could drive into protected thoughts or memories if it had to, but has never had any reason to test this theory--nor is it something it could casually test without potentially doing great mental harm to its target. In exchange for these psionic abilities, along with having no voice, Chibora's magical skills are heavily impaired. As any daemon can, it can absorb magic from its surroundings and has an exceptional ability to absorb magic that's been specifically directed at it--such as a magical attack--but it has absolutely no ability to take that energy and turn it about for its own use. All it can do is absorb and release. |
