Rules and Registration

Some Basic In-Character (IC) Info
The Destiny alternately orbits and docks with Star City. The Abstract Destiny does not Search its candidates. Your character has to register for approval as a potential bonder and/or sponsor. Hatching registration can either be done in person at the Draconic Relations Ministry in Star City itself, or online at the DRM website. Simply showing up at a hatching without registering is not possible. If you have not registered as a candidate/sponsor, you are not allowed to stand on the Bay floor during the hatching. Anyone who goes to a hatching just as an audience member does not require clearance. Schroeder personally reviews all candidates' applications. While waiting for a Synth or regular clutch to hatch, candidates are housed in apartments in Star City. When it's time for the hatching, an announcement is made over Star City's station-wide intercom system. Prior to the hatching, the eggs from a Synth are available to be visited in their Bay. Depending on the composite species, the eggs may even be pre-sentient and able to be conversed with. If the parent(s) are not supervising the eggs, then one of the Destiny's employees will be. The Hatching Bays are the only part of the ship regular visitors and candidates can freely access without security escort. See the page about the Destiny itself to read about what areas your characters can actually see. The parents of a Synth are always allowed to take at least one of their offspring home with them. The Abstract Destiny and the Twisted Fate are rivals, each despising the other's ways and means of doing things. Candidates cannot bond/sponsor from both places. Doctor Schroeder and the other Destiny residents do not trust anyone who has had dealings with the Fate. There are of course exceptions to the rule, but these must be discussed with me beforehand.

Sometimes bondings bring together two like minds, but other times they are between personalities of great contrast. No one can ever guess what sort of dragon will be attracted to bond with them. Sponsor-Candidates are not looking to bond a dragonet. Instead they may only want to raise a dragon-child or take an extra friend home with them. A single no-story-required Sponsor-Candidate slot will be given to each owner of the gene donors (i.e. parents) in a Synth. If you want two offspring from your creatures' Synth, you must write a proper story. If you want three or more offspring, you can email me to negotiate something.

Candidates cannot be standing at another dragonry/weyr/nidus/etc. at the same time. You may submit all the candidates you like to a specific clutch, but be aware they will NOT all bond. Candidates that do not bond may go to other dragonries after the hatching or remain for future clutches. Candidates may be any species that is sentient and capable of caring for (or otherwise supporting) a dragon. You are welcome to re-use old characters at the Destiny, but new story is still required. All images are due up by a deadline or I will take them back. Keep track of updates so this doesn't happen. I reserve the right to reject any candidate at my discretion. If a clutch has more than one creature template DO NOT request one of them specifically.
