The Terigon Incubator

The furry little hybrid dragons called terigon are a "commissioned" species. The chaos god Aki, guardian of the distant forest called the Sanctum Dream, appeared on the ship without warning one day (how else does a chaos god appear?), bringing with her a little creature called a "terisae". In exchange for what she called an "alliance" -- the promise to give Doctor Schroeder access to genetic samples from nearly every creature she watches over, should he want it -- she asked the good doctor to come up with a draconic variety of her favorite species, and help adopt them out throughout the world.

As a result, Schroeder's labs produce terigon eggs very frequently, far exceeding regular clutch production. Most are whisked away by the god herself to parts unknown, but others are kept aboard the ship in a stasis-inducing incubator in one of the Science Deck's many labs.

The eggs are advertised the same way as normal clutches -- by a combination of station-wide advertisements and worlds-wide word-of-mouth -- though there's no business of an official hatching when it comes to the little creatures. Though terigon can naturally bond, they do so only rarely -- only 1 in every 10 eggs produces a bond-upon-hatching kit. As such, only caretakers are required for the little dragons. They are not mere "pets", but they aren't as demanding upon someone's attention as a full dragon, either, and even someone who is surprise-bonded by their adopted terigon can go on to bond a "regular" dragon.

Anyone who wishes to adopt -- and take a 1 in 10 chance of bonding -- a terigon still has to register and be approved, but once this process is done, they are invited to the ship and escorted up to the Science Deck, where they are led to the incubator room and allowed to select an egg. Then all they have to do is take it home and wait for it to hatch, which occurs within a day or two from being removed from the incubator's stasis enchantments.

Recap/Rules
  1. Terigon are neither pets nor are they "full" dragons. Just about anyone can adopt one and anyone who happens to bond one can still bond or already be bonded to a "full" dragon.
  2. Terigon adoptions only require a character with a stat-sheet and thus can be given to new candidates and the like.
  3. Terigon CANNOT be adopted by characters that are evil, cruel, maliciously deceptive, or otherwise display extremely negative traits.
  4. Each egg contains a specific, pre-made terigon, so you don't know what you've gotten until Phoenix returns your email! Similarly, there's no telling which egg is the 1-in-10 bonder until someone adopts and hatches it.
  5. Adoptions are limited to one-at-a-time. When you adopt a terigon, you cannot adopt another until your previous one has been paged and you have provided me with a link.
  6. A character can only adopt two (2) terigon in total.
  7. I will do what I can to be as quick as possible to update this page, but eggs are FIRST COME FIRST SERVED.
  8. An egg's color loosely correlates to the color of the terigon inside.
  9. Random clutches all consist of unrelated terigons. Only clutches bred from two parents contain siblings.
