Description: This Phantom is covered in fine, yellow-golden fur that occasionally sparks with energy. His mane is soft to the touch and fluctuates in color from white to black, depending on his energy status: white indicates that he's operating at full capacity, black means he's utterly drained and must recharge. His body-fire, likewise, flickers between white and black as well, although this is a more accurate reflection of his mood. It's entirely possible for his mane to be brilliant white, while his body-fire burns black--such a situation means that he's at full power and in a deep rage or emotional 'pit', which can be depression, sorrow, or artistic funk. His fires may dim if he's at particularly low levels of energy, while they may expand when he's operating at full magic. If pressed too hard, he 'erupts' in a colorful display of his body-fire. This feat costs him a great deal of energy and causes amnesia; he'll do it and forget why. What he does in such a state varies upon his mood, of course... Most of the time, however, both his mane and fire flow between various shades of blue.

Recharging his magical stores requires basking in a source of any kind of energy, although relaxing in the midst of a storm or while listening to music tends to be the most effective way for him to renew his energy.

He is more musically minded than the other Phantoms as well, lending his rich, bell-like voice to most forms of music. His dexterous hands and mobile mouth also allow him to manipulate most instruments.

Personality: Gold is very much a dreamer. He spends his days entranced in his own music, woven both in word and every instrument ever invented. To him, music is both an ecstasy and an addiction, and he frequently works himself into a frenzy in pursuit of the most powerful, most emotive music. Like any artist, Gold can also fall into a funk of depression if he feels he's fallen too far from his lofty goals and, essentially, betrayed himself. With the drastic change that can occur between artistic high and depressed low, he's clearly bipolar, and swings between his two extremes in a fairly regular sequence. However, there's something in Chrisphene's presence that leads him into a pleasant-tempered and productive mania (in contrast to one of agitation and desperation) that drives him to seek her as his life-long companion.
Abilities:
  • Energy Flux: Gold is a very powerful conduit for magical energy, though he cannot wield it in spell form. Like an uncontrolled telekinetic, however, his magic tends to affect his surroundings in uncontrolled ways when his power is at its greatest.
  • Instrument Mastery: What he lacks in magical control, Gold makes up in musical aptitude. Any instrument he takes in his hands or puts to his lips, he can play without flaw. The only instruments he chooses to play, however, are the violin, flute, harp, and pipe organ.
  • Shapeshifting (Human): The ability to shapeshift into a human form. Has small horns, mane, and body-fire tattoos.
  • Sizeshifting: The ability to change one's physical size.
  • Verbal Speech: The ability to speak aloud.
