Masque is the Phantom of vengeance. He overlords his opera house with a firm, unyielding grasp, and is quick to punish anyone who does not obey his commands and concede to his wishes. He is fierce and arrogant, and of all the Phantoms, is the only one who regularly frightens Chrisphene. He is the Phantom who is wild and untamed, and the sole mastermind of the darkly intense opera, Don Juan Triumphant. Even a story such as this one needs a villain, and Masque would be it.
