Regal and composed, Purple's self-confidence is matched only by White's--who has more of a lack of self-consciousness rather than true confidence. Purple (don't you dare try to call him Violet) never suffers from doubt or uncertainty. Though he is no different from the other Phantoms in wanting to be loved and understood, he is only disappointed by the world's shunning of him, rather than downright depressed by it. Highly intelligent and very opinionated, Purple has no qualms about trying to seize life in his talons and control it the way he thinks it should be. His confidence and disappointment with the world turns into a disdain for the other people in it, so he is the only Phantom to believe himself superior in all ways to the general populace of Le Drame. He believes that Chrisphene is the only one capable of being his equal and has no doubt that, as long as he is patient, he will be able to convince her of this. |
