Description: Lysary are creatures of fluctuating appearance, though not so much that they are unrecognizable as the same person between one form and the next. Lycarth's appearance is in a constant slow transition, although the identification of five particular "stages" helps keep track of the cycle's progression.

At one extreme, his form is draconic and goes about on all fours. He is fairly lithe of build and covered with a short coat of beige skin-colored fur. He has two long tails, each of which ends in a luminous globe, and twin sprays of brown and yellow feathers arc off his shoulders, not true wings but ornamental structures. His draconic form tends to look bulkier than it really is, because all four of his legs and both tails are also covered with a plush extra layer of reddish-brown fur, all the way from the join of limb to body to just before his toes or the globes of his tails. He also has shorter hair on the crown of his head and running down the back of his neck, which tends to be somewhat scruffy, and a bristly fringe along his lower jaw as if of five o'clock shadow.

The opposite end of his shift-cycle is a wholly human form, athletic and ruggedly attractive. His features seem somewhat worn beyond his age, but the years fall away when he smiles and laughs. Though his brown eyes are at times guarded, he is neither hard to read nor unemotional. His hair is still short, but now he's able to groom it back to a neat, sleeker look, although a stubborn section of his bangs always escape and hang back across the right side of his forehead by mid-morning. Also, where his draconic shape merely hints at it, human Lycarth is eternally stubbled and clearly in need of a proper shave.

Personality: Though Lycarth is a sociable, approachable fellow, he is the sort of man many people know without actually knowing. The face he presents to the world around him is a charismatic one, able to tease and joke around with the best of them when he's in a pleasant mood and in the company of those who can banter back with equal enjoyment. He is also honorable and responsible, never shirking his duties and always willing to go out of his way to help someone in need. Lycarth absolutely cannot stand the sight of others being threatened or tormented and will always step to their defense if it is reasonably possible for him to do so. He tends to get on with women better than other men, enjoying the flirting game now and then -- but it's very clearly just a game to him, rather than anything he ever intends to follow up on (much to the disappointment of a few of the ladies he's crossed paths with in his time).

But despite this cheerful, agreeable exterior, Lycarth is guarded and secretive. He does not confide in others and does not wish to be confided in. Anyone who tries to learn his innermost emotional workings quickly finds him turning angry and defensive at their attempted invasion of his privacy. However much he may aid and cooperate with those around him, the truth remains that Lycarth trusts absolutely no one but himself.

Abilities:
  • Phase-Shifting: Carth undergoes a constant shapeshifting cycle according to the passage of time. It takes about a week to progress to each "stage" of his cycle, going from first to fifth and then regressing through the intermediate stages back to first.
    • First Stage: A quadruped draconic form.
    • Second Stage: A draconic form that walks upright but hunched over.
    • Third Stage: The halfway stage between his two extremes: an anthropomorphic dragon.
    • Fourth Stage: A near-human stage with pointed ears, a line of fur along each forearm, and long digitgrade legs.
    • Fifth Stage: A pure human form.
  • Verbal Speech: The ability to communicate in spoken words.
Basis: Carth Onasi, from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
