As if it weren't bad enough that Phe's other bonds like throwing things at people, Akiyoshi loves little more than throwing himself at people! Akiyoshi is boisterous and ridiculous, and he just can't get enough of taking a flying leap at his xenomorphic bond and latching on with his claws about her head and his tail around her neck, gleefully proclaiming that he is a facehugger. Phe gets a faceful of belly-scales from her youngest bond almost daily, and she's not the only one! Akiyoshi will happily fling himself at anyone who is of proper pouncing size, or otherwise makes themselves vulnerable to a facehug.

Many of the other DOOMers are afraid to imagine what things will be like as Akiyoshi grows and gets bigger.

• Alternate Form (Akki Malakym): The ability to shapeshift into an Akki-caste Malakym.
• Bioluminescence: The ability to glow with a red aura.
• Bloodline Sense: The ability to sense others that are related to him, up to three generations away.
• Breath Weapon (Fire): The ability to breathe a gout of fire.
• Seedling Reproduction: Every few years, Akiyoshi 's gemlike scales bloom into flowery structures. If they contract the pollen of another seedling-capable dragon, he could very well become "pregnant".
• Superior Strength: Akiyoshi is far stronger than a dragon his size normally would be.
• Telekinesis: The ability to move things with the mind.
• Telepathy: The ability to speak mind-to-mind.
• Verbal Speech: The ability to speak aloud.
