It was certainly to the furred-and-feathered mutt's benefit that he is an industrious worker, possessing vivacious energy and never faltering in his guardianship duties. He is never further from Gavin's side than he needs to be in order to be ready to protect the man at a moment's notice, but is more than just an ever-present piece of scenery. Despite the gravity of his role in the hive, Retejoss is a lively and cheerful character. Whether he speaks in words or not, he is great company, and not above socializing with the other humans and alien sentients whom Gavin works with at the Ministry.

• Acid Blood: Xenodragon blood is incredibly acidic, able to rapidly eat through most known organic and inorganic materials.
• Bioluminescence: Allows the xeno to glow. All its bioluminescent parts itch and burn under strong light, so these hybrids prefer to dwell in darkness.

• Resin Secretion: The ability to produce a hard, glossy resin that can be used as a building material, mostly for hives and cocoons.
• Telepathy: The ability to communicate mind-to-mind.
• Wall-Climbing: The ability to climb and stick to any surface with ease.
