Chi'nyk got her name when she was presented to Devika, and the first thing the daemon exclaimed about her was, "What the hell is that little thing?!" Her mother/creator, Chibi Dark, translated the exclamation and Chi'nyk's name was set--as was the fact that she now sticks to Devika like glue.
Youthful and cheerful, Chi'nyk is a lot more trickster-ly than her gaffling sister Shalene displays. She certainly is perfectly happy to follow Devika wherever the daemon goes, never phased or distraught by whatever snappy words Devika throws at her, and never being shaken off no matter how hard Devika tries to lose her! She also calls the daemon "Mommy-Devika", never addressing her in any other way, since she draws an endless amount of amusement from Devika's exasperation.
Nevertheless, Chi'nyk is otherwise a sweet and helpful little thing (pun intended). Even if she loves poking fun at Devika, she is on the Destiny as a protective spirit and she takes this responsibly very seriously.
As a gaffling somewhat aligned with destruction, Chi'nyk needs to consume an amount of the kinds of energies that are released when a living thing dies, but can also eat normal kinds of food to supplement her diet.
