Though he is not a people-person and the circumstances behind his coming to dwell on a place like the Fate are rather uncertain, it is in this capacity that Ashfrost serves. In truth, his Seekings are an excuse to get off the ship as much as anything else. He has a dry, often sarcastic tone that does not make friends nor charm the people he Chooses, but he doesn’t need to be charismatic, anyway. His Chosen candidates are often made by force, delivered to the ship in magical deep-freeze.
