When Rezosuirpal Peregrin had first arrived at the Fate, he was 'attacked' by the two resident Infernals on the ship -- or would have been attacked if they didn't suddenly recognize him in mid-leap, and stumbled over themselves to rectify their mistake, which amused Rezosuirpal greatly. From them he learned what he had come here to find out -- the ship's alliance with the Balespawn and their mother-goddess was all but forced upon them; they didn't trust the lot of them one bit. That, at least, made him feel better about this place. Naircazg had talked him into staying for the Infernal hybrid clutch, though Rez was mildly interested, he assumed that Naircazg's reasons were not so much as for him to take care of one of the hybrids, but to have him stay on the ship longer, in a legal manner. The hatching wasn't something he had enjoyed, he had never known clutchmates of Infernals to go after each other in such a manner, and was more than relieved that it was the Beast half of the hybrids that behavior came from. None of the hatchlings approached him, either -- either to attack, like most did with the rest of those standing, or to stay. He had a feeling they knew who he was, on some level. One of those blasted Balespawn had been standing as well, as Naircazg said would be, but Rez didn't approach him, he just watched.
The hatching over, Rezosuirpal was now required to leave the ship, even though none of the hybrids had wished to go with him. He could try for another clutch, as an excuse to stay aboard and try to find out more about these Balespawn, but he didn't think caring for someone else's child would suit him. He did not need a bond, either. He had almost reached the hanger, fingering a grey feather he had picked up when he had first left The Realm and entered Lanse'shri, and stopped. He had an idea.
"So why exactly are you wanting this done?" Dritanys eyed the white-haired human with a wary look. She didn't know exactly what he was, but anyone that could cause Infernals to fawn in his presence and to come out of that Beast hatching without even a bloodstain, well, it was worth being cautious. He was definitely more than the Supernal he claimed to be. Particularly when those Infernals had informed her his powers were based on corruption. "Simple, I wish to start a third line, one that is more like myself in alignment," Rezosuirpal said, "I cannot do that within my own species. They'd turn out good, and that would be...undesirable. I already have a 'good' line." "That's it?" Dritanys was still unsure. "And what if I say no?" "If that is your answer, that's what I'll have to take," Rezosuirpal replied as he fingered the grey feathers, "You're not one of my followers, I cannot make you comply." Dritanys paused for a moment. "Very well," she finally said, and Rezosuirpal smiled and handed over the feathers, "We can handle another corrupted clutch. What are these feathers from?" "Undead wolf, of a sort," Rezosuirpal said, then smirked, "And if you're thinking the offspring will have the same powers I do...well, I hope they don't disappoint you if they don't. My corruption powers are unique, none of my descendants on either side have been born with it. Supernals are...odd like that." One of the other Lab-witches took a sample of Rezosuirpal's blood, while Dritanys eyed the feathers in her hand. She knew this Rezosuirpal Peregrin was up to something. She just didn't know what. |
