| The Seekers |
|---|
|
The Seekers are a caste all of their own aboard the Fate. Their only duty is to collect candidates for the Theurges of the ship, much like the Searchriders of other worlds. The big difference between Seekers and Searchers, however, is that Seekers can and will kidnap potential candidates by force! |
| Name(s) | Quick Personality |
|---|---|
| Acheron delMar | Acheron is a shapeshifter who can adapt to any environment he's thrown into. A cheerful rogue, he's the Fate's best Seeker. The fact that he moonlights as a spy probably has something to do with it. |
| Archippus-Adamah | Solemn and unsmiling, Adamah is neither friendly nor social, but his mindreading abilities let him excel at Choosing proper candidates. |
| Ashfrost | Dry and sarcastic, Ashfrost is a Seeker because it gets him off the ship. Cold and icy planets are his speciality and he frequently Seeks by force, bringing Chosen to the ship hibernating in magical blocks of ice. |
| Cocytus | Cocytus loves to scuffle. Nothing makes him happier than having to wear out a candidate he's Chosen by force so that he can carry them off. He doesn't like to wound people, however, and never leaves anything worse than a bruise. |
| Ekalyskal-sul-Atsedyvn and Rohonesutith | Ekalyskal is an uncharacteristically timid tycharis female who Seeks only because it gets her off the ship. She never Chooses by force. Flighty and effeminate, Rohonesutith is easily distracted from Seeking by her love of food. She's a Danachian purple with the brain of an Old-World green. |
| Garyain Winterheart | Flamboyant and yet emotionally cold, Garyain is a shapeshifter who rarely appears in his true form. He Seeks only to earn his keep aboard the Fate and uses the ventures as an outlet for honing his shapeshifting skills. |
| "Lars" Apshire and Kachojich | Lars is a gigantic woman with a personality to do any tycharis female proud, so she is quite liked and respected by the aliens, and this shows in her many Rune-Brands. She often, but not always, picks up Chosen when she drops by a bar to sample the local wares. That's only a hobby, though, as she is an incredibly competent Seeker and will Choose by force anyone small enough for her to muscle around. Kachojich is more than happy to follow his bond into any tavern that'll fit him, but while he can handle liquor quite well, he's mostly interested in bawdy drinking songs. |
| Lethe | Lethe is a hybrid catdragoness who hates to Choose by force. She'd rather sweet-talk and seduce to coax someone to follow her, which is why she mostly brings back draconic males. |
| Phlegethon | Phlegethon is perhaps the most gentlemanly and cultured of all the Seekers, but don't let that mislead you into thinking he has a heart of gold. Some of history's best villains have been gentlemen, after all. |
| Shulrakar-sul-Thithekrir and Ageceryth | Shulrakar is a pushover among tychari. Other races will likely find him quite pleasant, seeing as he is quiet and unassuming. Ageceryth is hyperactive without being bouncy or gleeful--he's just stuck on fast-forward. His bond may be timid, but Ageceryth won't hesitate to Choose by force in order to acquire necessary candidates. |
| Styx | Sister to the sultry Lethe, Styx is usually one of those tasked with watching over the Egg Caverns. When there are no eggs to be watched, however, she enjoys finding candidates for the next upcoming brood. She's a charming soul who loves to talk with people. |
| Y'Charknai Ksathakra and Ifrit | Ksathakra is a strange-looking insectoid beast, but she has only one motivation behind her Seeking: the rescuing of children from truly miserable and/or abusive lives, whether or not the child itself wishes to be rescued! She'll willingly Choose by force, always believing that she knows best and is doing the right thing. Ifrit, her mighty bond, doesn't like kids as as rule, but he's her willing accomplice in all things. He just likes getting to play the role of "big, nasty dragon" whenever Ksathakra needs a diversion! |
