Rules and Registration

Some Basic In-Character Info
  1. Candidates can arrive on the Fate one of two ways: by choice, or by being Chosen.
    1. Candidates who choose to apply to the Fate can arrive on their own (if they can find a shuttle or teleport-capable creature that knows how to get there) or request a lift from one of the Seekers. How do you find a Seeker? Just ask around. Many members of the Fate's non-tycharis population, of all races, have seeped back into the Nexus and spread themselves around the worlds. Ask around enough and eventually word will get to who needs to hear it.
    2. Candidates can also be Chosen. This is much like being found by a Searchrider in other worlds. If someone is found by one of the Fate's Seekers and judged as appropriate to a clutch's needs, one of two things can happen. The new Chosen can agree to come along, or they will be taken by force!
  2. Once on the ship and listed as a candidate, whether by choice or by Choosing, the candidate is free to roam the Chosen's Deck and the Egg Caverns, but magical recognition spells will prevent them from taking the teleporters to any other part of the ship. Candidates are watched very, very carefully. Manage to get into someplace you're not allowed, and you probably won't live to tell the tale of your disobedience. Also, the Custodians of the Chosen are the only people responsible for your needs while you're within the permitted areas. Don't bother anyone else.
  3. Advertisements for the Fate are entirely by word-of-mouth and the work of the Seekers.
  4. The constituents of a Biotheurge are always allowed to take at least one of their offspring home with them. (See the Bond or Sponsor? section below.)
  5. Cross-gender bondings can and do happen here.
  6. If in your exploration of the Chosen's Deck you find yourself being stalked by the entity known as The Red Demon, RUN. Get back to your room as fast as you can. You'll be safe there. Probably.

Regarding the Abstract Destiny

The Abstract Destiny and the Twisted Fate are rivals, each despising the other's ways and means of doing things. Candidates cannot bond/sponsor from both places. It is not safe for candidates who have had dealings with the Destiny to come aboard the Fate -- doubly so for Destiny-born creatures themselves.

There are of course exceptions to the rule, but these must be discussed with me.

Bond or Sponsor?

Bonding-Candidates want to bond mind-to-mind with a newly-hatched creature, (hopefully) acquiring a trusted partner for life. Sometimes bondings bring together two like minds, but other times they are between personalities of great contrast. No one can ever guess what sort of creature will be attracted to bond with them.

Sponsor-Candidates are not looking to bond. Instead they may only want to raise a young creature to follow their own ways, or acquire a powerful ally.

A single no-story-required Candidate slot will be given to each owner of the constituents (i.e. parents) in a Biotheurge. If you want two offspring from your creatures' Biotheurge, you must write a proper story. If you want three or more offspring, you can email me to negotiate something.

If I decide to make your Biotheurge result in multiple templates (not including physical variations on a single template) chances are I will let your free slot encompass a hatchling of each type, though this is not a guarantee.

The Rules
  1. Read about the ship and its inhabitants! This is an interactive setting, so you're welcome to write stories that take place here, but make sure you know about the ship before you do so. Impressing me with your familiarity of the ship and its inhabitants may earn you additional rewards.
  2. You must have a webpage ready to hold your dragon images.
  3. You must have a persona on your webpage for the dragon to bond to / be sponsored by.
  4. Link back to the Twisted Fate (http://xenoqueen.deviant-uprising.com/TwistedFate/) on your page.
  5. Candidates CANNOT be standing at another dragonry/weyr/nidus/etc. at the same time.
  6. Stories are required. Stat-sheets are optional but appreciated. Remember: quality over quantity!
  7. Your character's story must somehow relate to their intent to bond/sponsor a dragon.
  8. If you write anything above PG-rating, please post fair-warning for others.
  9. You may submit all the candidates you like to a specific clutch, but be aware they will NOT all bond.
  10. Candidates that do not bond may go to other dragonries after the hatching or remain for future clutches.
  11. Candidates may be any species that is sentient and capable of caring for (or otherwise supporting) a dragon.
  12. Your character can have as many pets as you like. (Some sites restrict them to 2 or 3).
  13. You are welcome to re-use old characters at the Fate, but new story is still required.
  14. All images are due up by a deadline or I will take them back. Keep track of updates so this doesn't happen.
  15. I reserve the right to reject any candidate at my discretion.
  16. If a clutch has more than one creature template DO NOT request one of them specifically.
